In order to get the best deals its advised to be flexible with your dates if possible and consider alternate airports. Also, as is becoming more frequent these days, the add-on costs as you go through the booking process can sometimes add up to more than the basic flight itself. An example of this is Monarch airlines who mandatorily force you into paying to allocate yourself a seat. For a single person just making your seat allocation can add up to £50 onto the flight cost, so do be aware.
