Getting to Spain by plane is nowadays a lot more easier that perhaps it used to be. The advent of low cost airlines means that not only are flights cheaper but also more airports service the popular destinations.
Perhaps the most frequent airlines that service Spain are Ryanair, EasyJet, Monarch, Thompson Fly and ThomasCook. The latter two also provide package holidays to spain as well.
Airports in the UK that provide a regular service include:
London Gatwick
London Luton
London Stansted
Birmingham
East Midlands
Bournemouth
Southampton
Bristol
Cardiff
Coventry
Manchester
Liverpool
Doncaster
Newcastle
Glasgow
Edinburgh
Do note that although many of the airlines noted above provide a service from most of these airports, their schedules can be seasonal and operate sometimes only 1 flight per week. In order to get the best deals its advised to be flexible with your dates if possible and consider alternate airports. Also, as is becoming more frequent these days, the add-on costs as you go through the booking process can sometimes add up to more than the basic flight itself. An example of this is Monarch airlines who mandatorily force you into paying to allocate yourself a seat. For a single person just making your seat allocation can add up to £50 onto the flight cost, so do be aware.
